Shaking Things Up
The craze continues: A new juice joint called Juice & Shakes is slated to open downtown at 154 S.
Coast Highway this summer. “We are excited to share our passion in this amazing location in the
heart of Laguna Beach,” says local business owner Chris Keller, who teams up with Amy Amaradio
for the new venture. “Our partnership with Alegría Fresh, a local farm in Laguna Canyon, will allow
us to grow unique vegetables that will be hand-delivered on a regular basis.”
Juices & Shakes will focus on offering signature organic and raw cold-pressed juices and nondairy
shakes. Bases for the shakes will be made with juice mixed with coconut ice cream or almond
ice cream, according to Chris. Also on the menu are kombucha on tap, cold-pressed coffee and
healthy “superfood” bowls with ingredients like kale and acai.
“The popularity of the juice craze is only the beginning,” Chris adds. Juice & Shakes will be the
third juice-centric shop to open in town in the past year.—A.Z.
